Track Name: What's Your Gold
I don't know how to make wealth my own,
Or bring the whole world to its knees.
I've got no code to get the gold, no pride wrought throne,
But dust is swept away by just a breeze.

I don't know when this life will end for me,
Or how to plan for a future I can't see.
But choose the road where love is gold, and all you need,
Follow wherever it should lead, that's the road for me.

Life is what we live for, lose yourself and breathe.
Love is what we give for…
---
Fame and vice have their price,
But true contentment comes with ease.
---
I'll never know what it's like to wear a crown,
Or have my people bow to me.
But in the end your deeds ascend and gold just weighs you down,
Forget the world and let it be, set your spirit free.
Track Name: I'll Go
I've been around this place for too long,
Everyone here they seem to know my song,
Words lose their meaning and a man will lose his charm,

I know, I'll pack up and go. I’ll go.

I built this shelter, I nourished the land,
But the harvest is over and the house barely stands,
What can I do with so much blood on my hands?

I know, I'll pack up and go. I'll go.
I'm gone, it’s time to move on. I'm gone.

Well I came to this town and turned it around, every heart I owned,
My words were inviting, my presence uniting, tyrants and thieves I dethroned.
But as sure as the tide, watched my favor subside, with all that was real about me.
Now I look in the mirror, and all I can see, is a fable they wrote about me.

It seems the good things, they never last,
I guess it's my fault that they faded so fast,
That's what you get when you don't learn from the past.

I know, I'll pack up and go, I'll go.
I'm gone, it's time to move on, I'm gone.
---
The road is open, got my walking shoes on,
I've got to find out where I really belong,
I'll build a new house, and re-write my song.

I know, I'll pack up and go, I'll go.
I'm gone, it's time to move on, I'm gone.
Track Name: Goin' Down
Goin' down to make my day.
Can’t get by any other way.
What I do and what I say.
Feed this hunger that won’t go away.

And I've tried to get on track.
But I keep slipping back.
I can't believe that pushing through can set me free,
When giving up is the only way I see.

I've gone back on my word.
Sometimes to stay true seems absurd.
I've taken my share, and then some more.
I didn’t care who it was meant for.

And I've tried to do you right.
But my hunger put up a fight.
You tell me I don't matter more than anybody else.
But that's not how I feel about myself.

I put you down, I caused pain.
On your reputation, my black stain.
I've spread my name with a forceful hand.
Spotlight the singer, forget the band.

And I've tried to put you first,
But I can't bear to be the worst.
It shouldn't pleasure me to push out of the way,
But the Lord knows, that's the game I play.

Goin’ down my own way.
I can't hear the words you say.
Because I pushed you so far away.
Alone and angry, I face the day.
Track Name: The Cave
I sit here alone in a solitary room,
I've not seen my own since the middle of June.
The place I call home has been slipping out of mind.
Like sand through a sieve when the grain is too fine.

I've just woken up, but it's already afternoon,
I fear that the grave has come much too soon.
I thought that by now I'd have learned how to fly,
But my time has run out and the well has run dry.

The tables have turned on what I thought I knew.
My church has been burned and my sanctuary too.
Stripped to the bone, without a trace of pride.
They told me the truth but the truth was a lie.

I've seen seven black seas and twelve moonless skies.
I've suffered my plagues and bled a dozen times.
But the silver and gold lies in the deepest mines.
Blood and disease is what you pay...

The body grows weak, can't take any more.
To emerge from this cave, I wonder what it's all for.
But the serpent lies dead, its head upon the floor.
The light grows ahead as I stand at the door.
Track Name: Illumination
(Instrumental)
Track Name: Step by Step
Step by step the longest march can be won, can be won.
Many stones do form an arch singly none, singly none.
And by union what we will, can be accomplished still.
Drops of water turn a mill, singly none, singly none.
Track Name: White Rose River
White rose river,
How many times I've been here I don't know,
How many more before it starts to show?
You plant a seed, how long until it grows?

White rose river, I crept naked to your shore.
Wept with pleasure as your water filled my soul.
Beyond measure, my black dross you would absorb, and whisk away.

White rose river flow now freely flow.
White rose river you know where to go.

White rose river,
You chase the full moon down the open plain.
Illuminating what can't be explained.
You laugh at disrepair like it's a game.
You treat despair as if it were a stain.

White rose river, your current charged my mind.
Flowing freely, saw my ignorance unwind.
Soaked completely, put my weariness behind, and stood again.

White rose river,
From the oldest mountain you descend,
Ushering our lifeblood round the bend,
You birth anew what no one else can mend,
You vindicate what no one can defend.
Track Name: On My Own
It's a long road to where I ought to be,
The journey's end is clear but the path is up to me.
It’s a never ending carousel, you've got to jump to find your way,
Or you'll be squinting at a crescent moon through the dark of the 29th day.

They cut the wrong path and tell us that it's right,
They hide the one already there,
But they never win the fight.
I wonder if they care.

On my own this time around.
Playing this new hand I've found.
I'll close my eyes until I get back to the ground.
On my own this time around.

Hanging from the carousel, there's plenty more to see.
Yearning for a taste of all the things you'd rather be.
Another face to stand behind, a new chance to be free,
Would the wheel keep spinning round if it were up to me?

I cut my own path but I'm not sure if it's right,
I neglect the one that they laid bare.
And I'll miss out on the fight.
I wonder if I'll care.

On my own this time around.
Playing this new hand I've found.
I closed my eyes, but I can get by on the sound.
On my own this time around.
Track Name: Scarlet Road
(Instrumental)
Track Name: The Union
He was born a man of the eastern sun,
But he went west across the sea.
Found her there while she was on the run,
Looking for a place to be free.

Her heart had been frozen by time.
A glacier cutting canyons through every man.
His mind was on fire with his dream,
Burning hotter than most could withstand.

Fate set their tempers to collide,
And left a burning mist of steam.
But pretty soon his fire simmered to a glow,
And she was bursting water from the seams.

He made her warm and softened up those jagged eyes,
That's when she knew she'd found the key.
It wasn't as a vagabond or on the open sea,
Behind his locked door she finally felt free.

All his life, he lived in the eastern sun,
But he no longer called it home.
He left his dream behind and she forsook her run,
And on this new trip together they roamed.

They never turned back to see what lay behind,
It was a loss that neither mourned.
And from the union of these two different kinds,
A luminary child was born.
Track Name: The Storm
Gathering speed, it came down.
It spun with a need to breakdown.
Collecting with greed whatever it found.

And faced with a choice he waited.
His mind and his voice debated.
This was his time to stand his ground.

The rain fell upon the faces,
Of those caught between two places.
Swept back into dust without making a sound.

But he remained whole and fought it,
Seizing control, he thought if
He could stay up he would turn their fortune around.
---
Hard with abuse, it whistled.
But still he refused dismissal.
He was willing to lose if he could bring it to harm.

Howling with rage, it took him.
It seemed that his luck forsook him,
It swallowed him whole without him raising an arm.

But he was the poison arrow.
The disease that destroyed its marrow.
The damage was done before it could raise the alarm.

And it fell to the ground defeated,
It laid him back down, depleted.
And when it had gone, he stood unharmed.
---
He picked up his will, unbroken.
And heard grateful words, unspoken.
He'd weathered the storm and delivered them all.
Track Name: Be At Peace
Walking back as the night drew near,
The wind died down to a breeze.
Swept my hair back and whispered in my ear,
"May you always be at peace."

Up and down through the sunlit hills.
The rhythm put me at ease.
Matched my step note for note and the echoes through the trees were singing,
"May you always be at peace."

Watched the river run through golden light.
And all my fears were released,
The message loud, and sure as stone, was etched into this sight,
"May you always be at peace."

I met a man who spoke of the judgment day.
He had a smile that wouldn't cease.
He shook my hand and as he turned to walk away, he said,
"May you always be at peace."
